ROBIN LYNNE YOUNG, CSSC

Founder,
ROBINYOUNG & COMPANY, INC
In
1996, ROBINYOUNG & COMPANY, INC., a Houston-based firm
was founded by Robin Lynne Young. Young is among the first
100 industry professionals in the nation to earn the designation
of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC), offered
by the National Structured Settlement Trade Association through
the University of Notre Dame. ROBINYOUNG & COMPANY, INC.,
is an independent brokerage firm dedicated exclusively to
the plaintiff and and plaintiff's legal team as a resource
tool offering injury victims a unique brand of personal attention
and financial assistance at a critical juncture in their road
to recovery.
"Too
often I see personal injury victims who have been completely
focused on simply seeing their injury acknowledged and blame
legally affixed," says Young. "The truth is, that's
just the beginning of what it's going to take to re-build
their lives. Their future, their best chance for long-term
emotional and physical healing, often lies in having someone
on their side who can swifty and accurately structure a financial
settlement which will safeguard them in the years to come."
As
a structured settlement professional for more than a decade
and a passionate advocate for the injury victims' rights,
Young emphasizes "hands-on" attention - really "getting
to know" the clients and their particular situation -
the kind of strategic thinking that takes years of experience
to hone. Structured settlements can be unwieldy for the unseasoned
consultant. Each client represents a complex set of personal,
legal and financial variables; neglecting any piece of the
puzzle can have disastrous results.
With
Young's team-player attitude and consummate personal approach,
Young coordinates and assists plaintiff attorneys, trust attorneys,
government attorneys, attorney ad litems and judges with her
deep understanding and knowledge of the process of resolving
their legal financial claims. For this, she relies on a solid
track record of working with minors, families, individuals,
young and elderly, as well as challenged individuals (with
special needs) who may require complex planning and personal
attention and focus. Young's available services are comprehensive:
pretrial preparation, attendance and participation at mediations
and hearings, meetings and planning with the family or individual,
and the coordination of document processing and the post-settlement
process.
Young's
firm offers broad-based structured settlement consulting,
financial planning, funding agreements and brokerage services
throughout the United States. Her structured settlement career
extends into the international arena as well. Young has traveled
and managed successful completion of complex cases involving
special issues with annuitants in Mexico, China (both Shanghai
and Beijing) and Hong Kong.
A
key element in Young's success is her background with Joe
Jamail, one of the country's most prominent plaintiff attorneys.
Prior to establishing her structured settlement career, Young
cites eight years of working on Jamail's settlement team,
as his assistant, with having a profound influence on her
style. Working with Jamail, she participated in the intricacies
of settling cases and learned to quickly gain the trust and
confidence of the plaintiff. She observed first hand how fair
settlements were negotiated and settled, often without the
necessity of trial. In her role as Jamail's exclusive structured
settlement consultant today Young continues to serve as a
valued component of Jamail's settlement team.
A
great motivation for Young is her sense of dedication to family,
both hers and others. Raised in the Philippines and Okinawa
as a young girl, Young is the Texas-bred daughter and granddaughter
of a military family where principles of honor and public
service have been a big influence in her life. In 2004, Young
married Joseph R. Ellis, Major, United States Marine Corps,
Retired.
The culture of giving and safeguarding runs through the hearts
of Young and her husband. On a local and national level, they
work hard to establish a firm foundation in the business,
social and philanthropic areas. Always passionate about the
causes that are important to them, Young and her husband support
a number of children's, health, arts, and educational organizations
such as The University of Texas at Austin Longhorn Foundation,
Easter Seals, Feed The Children and Abandoned Baby Center,
Houston's Musuem of Fine Arts, and Houston Livestock Show
and Rodeo.
Through
Young's contributions to The University of Texas at Austin,
she is honored as a member of The Littlefield Society and
The Chancellor's Council; through Easter Seals she is honored
on the Easter Seals Presidents' Council; and through her dedicated
work as a committeeman and her generous contributions to the
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for scholarships and education
she is an honored member of the Silver Spurs Club.
"Helping people get back on their feet has come to define
my own life," says Young. "The work is fascinating,
always changing, always demanding the absolute best of me
and my team. And, the best part is feeling at the end of the
day like we made a difference in someone's life".
